Metadata Definitions

Northern Gas Networks describes its datasets with metadata in the Dublin Core style.

These elements are provided for each dataset:

Identifier: A unique ID for referencing the dataset
Title: A unique and concise title for the dataset
Subject: Keywords that classify a dataset's content
Description: A simple overview of the dataset's content
Type: The nature of the content of the dataset, from https://www.dublincore.org/specifications/dublin-core/dcmi-terms/#section-7
Source: Where the dataset has been made available
Language: The language used in the dataset with the ISO 639-1 code and country subtag
Coverage: The geographical area covered by the dataset
Creator: The entity who has created the dataset
Publisher: The entity who has made the dataset available
Contributor: Entities external to NGN who have contributed to the dataset
Rights: The licence the dataset is shared under
Date: The temporal coverage of the dataset in ISO 8601 format
Format: The file format(s) of the dataset
